 - The news was announced by Thohir on social media platform X on Saturday (12/10). "Lunch with FC Copenhagen player who has Indonesian roots, and of course, a handshake. Welcome to the Indonesia National Team, @KevinDiks_," Thohir wrote in his post.

Diks, a 28-year-old defender with Ambonese heritage from his mother's side, responded warmly by posting an emoji of a handshake and the Indonesian flag on his official account.

His addition is seen as a major boost to Indonesia's defense, which will face Japan and Saudi Arabia in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, Asia zone, this November.
